Torrance Japanese Garden Paebaek/Pyebaek Korean Wedding Ceremony | Sunnie + Liam

Sunnie and Liam are both techy creatives like myself, so Sunnie felt like she hit the jackpot when she found me ;) The two got married during Covid but due to, you know, unexpected plans, they decided to do the traditional Korean paebaek ceremony honoring her family’s culture at a different time. This was my first time photographing one of these ceremonies, and I feel so lucky to have had a wonderful couple to do one with!!

Sunnie is also a freelance florist, often doing wedding floristry. So she set out to make her own floral arrangements to adorn the dinner tables and SUCCEEDED, WOW! These sorts of “living arrangements” turned out incredible!

Following the actual paebaek ceremony, I took more photos of the couple in their hanboks (traditional Korean dresses) around the venue, Pine Wind Garden, the Japanese Garden at Torrance Cultural Arts Center. Afterwards, I sat with their guests and enjoyed dinner with them, a full Korean meal bento-style. They even had extras and INSISTED I bring some home to my husband haha!

I just loved getting to work with Sunnie and Liam and wish them all the best in life!!
