Molly and Chad booked me in the midst of the pandemic for a 2021 wedding. With an abundance of caution, they decided to postpone to a 2022 but just couldn’t wait to get married. So they decided to elope with just their immediate families present at the gorgeous Santa Barbara County Courthouse exactly one year prior to their full wedding celebration (how smart was it to plan to have just one anniversary date??).

Because of health regulations, Molly and Chad when into the records office alone to do the paperwork just prior to the “formal ceremony,” which took place in a palm tree’s shade on the courthouse’s lawn. After a quick “I do” and ring exchange, the two were officially wed.

Following the ceremony, we all loaded into a limo for a champagne toast before going separate ways. The bride and groom and I headed to Butterfly Beach for some romantic portraits, while the families took a break before they all met up again for dinner.

I had such a blast with Molly and Chad and absolutely loved getting to meet their families ahead of the big 2022 day. I can’t wait for their wedding at Sherwood Country Club!!
