Huntington Bay Club Wedding | Becky + Jin

Huntington Bay Club is a gorgeous venue in, you guessed it, Huntington Beach. This is actually my most-worked-at venue since I second shoot for another photographer here a lot! While it’s a pretty small venue, I love that there are amazing portrait locations along the palms and on the sand.

After an engagement session and a hanbok pre-wedding session with Becky + Jin, I was so excited to finally arrive at their wedding. The weather was perfect, and everyone was so ready to get the party started!

For their reception, Becky and Jin decided to do a traditional Korean wedding ceremony called a paebaek (also spelled pyebaek). This ceremony is meant to unify the two families and pay your respects to your elders. It also includes mini-games, such as throwing dates into a banner and however many are caught is the amount of children the couple will have. Some grooms will also give their bride a piggy-back ride around the ceremony table! I’ve shot a couple of these ceremonies before and always have a blast at them.
